Bulletproof Coffee, Does it Even Work ?
Like most people I was skeptical and didn’t think coffee could do something like it’s claimed to do, with Bulletproof Coffee. I am always one of the first to be openminded to new ideas and new things but I am also quick to question them. I usually try to either learn from other people, and hear out their reviews. However, I do highly believe in personal experience and trying things for yourself. There is always 3 different sides on the internet so it’s very important to learn each, curate it, and then form your own usually by testing it out if it’s relevant.
The problem is that we find ourselves sometimes not thinking for ourselves and going solely off what we find on the internet or from another person. That’s why personal experience is very important.
The Bulletproof coffee company has many claims, overall one major one is that their coffee can be a life hack/brain hack. Using high quality coffee, grass fed butter, and MCT Oil. Which is rather similar to coconut oil just said to be higher in purity, and higher concentration of C-8.
Their claims, but backed by science, the butter and oil have several different vitamins A, K, D, E, beta carotene, Omega-3 Fat and CLA (fat). That the combination has energy, metabolism, and cognitive boosting potential. Which correlates to fat loss, and improved muscle development. Also that the caffeine from coffee increases serotonin, glutamine and dopamine flow. Which can ultimately lead you to being a happier person. As well as it’s higher quality coffee, the claim is that low quality has negative effects.
My Personal Account
I think it would be interesting to say, I didn’t necessarily grab the idea from them exactly to start. I fished around for healthy additives for coffee and as a result I ended up trying it out theirs after some research.
As you can see from the claims it sounds rather interesting, and intriguing. As a result I fell into the trap of trying it out for myself. After using it for about 2 to 3 months I can give you some personal accounts.
I was skeptical but I believe it has been one of the major compounding reasons to my current weight loss, and body composition success. I can say that because of it, I have actually managed to eat a healthy amount of daily fat (rough number since it depends on fitness level, and fitness goals 0.3 x per bodyweight = grams of daily fat). I haven't had a crash ever from my daily cup of coffee. I will admit my energy levels have been a lot better now and instead of being a roller coaster from coffee, they are much more in sync throughout the day.
I can go on and on about my personal beliefs on how it has benefitted me but I don’t think it’s necessary to write a novel on it. I just believe that it is very important to think of the difference, the difference is that you can use other coffee additives, spend $4 on a latte, and end up drinking a bunch of sugar that will likely cause a crash. A saying is in order to change your unhealthy habits, you usually have to replace it with a healthy one. Instead of spending $4 or drinking a bunch of sugar, you spend much less brewing it yourself and you consume healthy fats which have numerous health benefits. The choice is ultimately up to you, but I will say it definitely has it’s perk.
You can buy the real stuff or you can make it yourself with a store bought tub of coconut oil (roughly 10$, I prefer Carrington Farms), grass fed unsalted butter (roughly $3, I prefer kerrygold) and a source of coffee. All of that will roughly be $25-30 and could last you several weeks or a month.
My personal secret is adding Cinnamon to the blended mix. With cinnamon I would call it limitless coffee but that’s taken. So I think a fitting solution is Fit Life Coffee
Why Cinnamon ?
Because it increases the flavor, As well as MANY, MANY health benefits
So don’t take my word for it, or all the sources out there. Try it out for yourself, and test it.
