It’s not always easy to rewire your brain, but it is possible and likely one of the most important things you can do. I’m not going to tell you to stop watching TV even though the average person does spend 3+ hours a day watching TV which adds no value to your life. Instead I’m going to insist learning how to focus during your normal day and allow health to become a daily focus.
Many people think in order to get fit or be healthy you have to spend hours a day in the gym, and you need to be super focused on what you eat and very detailed with how you eat. I used to believe that in order to create a 6 pack or get the body that is flaunted everywhere that you have to spend so much of your time devoted to it. On the contrary it takes less than I thought to achieve it and takes even less to maintain. For over 20 years I wanted to have that type of body that was admired. For many reasons, one of which is that it is a sign of health, dedication, the appeal and probably because I never truly had control of my health prior.
The interesting thing is that everything seems easier after you’ve done it. You’re able to look back and say wow I can’t believe it was easier than I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong there are definite challenges and hurdles, but as humans we try to overcomplicate everything. It’s actually usually better to simplify where we can. Simplifying things into routines allows for us to use our willpower and brain for other more important tasks.
Here’s what happens when you let your health subside in life:
List of Other Possible Implications:
If those aren’t good enough reasons to get control over your health then let this be, you will die sooner. I don’t mean to get all morbid but in reality if you don’t control your health you increase the risk of dying sooner which will lower your impact on the world. We all are here to have some type of impact, the problem is when you don’t control your health it begins to control you and it dictates your life instead of you dictating your life. That’s why it’s important to take control of your health. The problem is your health might not show signs of problems now or tomorrow, because it takes time. However you don’t want to create problems for when your 30-40-50 or older. You can either deal with the short term pain of exercising and eating healthier now, or deal with the far bigger health implications and costs associated with it later.
As you can see it really doesn't take much to live a healthier life. It takes far less work to live healthier that outweighs the possible negatives, and that’s a consolidated list of negatives. To live healthier it just takes cutting back on unhealthy food, eating more natural food, drinking more water, and creating activity daily. Don’t let the excuse of I don’t have time, money etc. be a reason why you can’t control your health.
